Wix and Squarespace

Both platforms support custom code injection on their paid plans.

Squarespace

1. Go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection
2. Paste your snippet into the Footer box
3. Save

The widget appears across the whole site.

Plan requirement: Code Injection requires a Business plan or higher. It is not available on Personal plans.

Single page: open the page, use Page Settings → Advanced → Page Header Code Injection, and paste the snippet there.

Squarespace 7.0 vs 7.1: the path is the same on both, though the menu wording differs slightly between versions.

Wix

1. Go to your site's dashboard
2. Settings → Custom Code (under Advanced)
3. Click Add Custom Code
4. Paste your snippet
5. Set Add Code to Pages to All pages
6. Set Place Code in to Body – end
7. Give it a name — SiteMesh widget — and Apply
8. Publish your site

Plan requirement: Custom Code requires a Premium plan. It does not work on free Wix sites.

Publish before testing

On both platforms, custom code runs only on the published live site — not in the editor or preview. Publish first, then check.

Wix Editor X and Wix Studio

The path is the same idea but the menu names differ. Look for Custom Code or Tracking & Analytics in the site settings, and choose the Body – end placement.

Checking it worked

1. Open your live site — not the editor
2. Hard-refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R)
3. Look for the chat bubble in the corner

It is not showing up

Check
Published?	Custom code does not run in the editor or preview
On a paid plan?	Both platforms gate custom code behind paid tiers
Correct placement?	Body – end / Footer, not Header
Applied to all pages?	Wix defaults to specific pages in some flows
Domain allowed?	A wixsite.com or squarespace.com staging address is a different hostname from your custom domain — list both, or use * while testing only
